KEIM mineral silicate paints

The KEIM® paints are based on potassium silicate minerals, which when applied onto masonry and mineral based substrates, are far more durable than conventional paints.
Some of the other benefits are: 

  • Superior colour fastness. The KEIM® system uses inorganic mineral based pigments which are much more UV stable than the surfactant based organic chemical tinters used in conventional surface coatings.
  • KEIM® mineral paints can be applied in strong primary colours.
  • Being mineral based, KEIM® paints form a chemical bond with masonry and mineral based substrates, unlike surface coatings.
  • KEIM® mineral paints have a "flat" or "matt" sheen level.
  • KEIM® mineral paints do not burn. They are non-combustable.
  • KEIM® mineral paints are highly resistant to mould and algae.
  • KEIM® mineral paints are highly resistant to severe chemical environments.
  • KEIM® mineral paints are easier to apply than lime and cementitious based paints.
  • KEIM® mineral paints are virtually free of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC'S).
  • Buildings where KEIM® paints have been used are eligible for Green Star ratings.
  • KEIM® mineral paints are vapour permeable
  • A mineral based pigmented stain for masonry surfaces is also available, Concretal Lasur.
